║ Back from Patagonia
14 April 2014
We are back from an amazing workshop in Patagonia. The weather was gorgeous and I think everyone managed to get some truly spectacular photographs.
We had a great group of people from three different continents with very different photographic styles and we all had great fun and learnt a lot from each other. There were some epic sunrises, sunsets and hikes like the one to the base of the towers in Torres del Paine. That morning we woke up at 1.30 am to start the climb at 3.30 am and make it to the top for sunrise. We were blessed with an amazing sunrise and views and it was well worth the effort to get there.
My friend and professional videographer Cesar Urbina of Iralta films in Spain took great footage of the workshop and is currently editing a video that I will share with you soon.
It was great to have Grand Master of Photography Peter Eastway co-lead the Patagonia this year. Peter is one of the most accomplished, awarded and respected landscape photographers in Australia and it was fantastic to be able to work with him (as well as sharing some Patagonian lamb... Peter is vegetarian but I think he was impressed with the quality of the meat in Argentina).
Peter is also owner and editor of Australia’s Better Photography Magazine. I have been following his magazine since I came to Australia in 2008 and it has certainly changed and improved the way I photograph and post-process my images.
