Eagle Huntress of Mongolia
$500 – $5,000
In October 2018, I travelled to Mongolia and ran a photography tour around the country with my friend Ricardo Da Cunha. We visited the Gobi Desert, but the main highlight and purpose of the trip was to photograph the Golden Eagle Festival in Western Mongolia. The festival is held in the Bayan-Olgii province, just 100 km from the Kazakhastan border, and the setting, surrounded by the Altai Mountains is amazing. Kazakh hunters from near and far away attend the festival for competitions based on the speed, agility, and accuracy of their magnificent hunting eagles. The competitions between the hunters will showcase traditional falconry skills and the communication between the hunter and eagle, which is key to a successful result. This picture of an eagle huntress was taken moments before the opening of the competition and shows the amazing connection that some eagle hunters have with their eagles.
This fine art print is available in a limited edition of 100 prints (20 exclusive prints per size).
