This is a fine art wildlife photograph that has been completely manufactured to create a more compelling and interesting image. The bird at the top of the frame and the King Penguin’s head that comes out from the bottom right have been dropped in to achieve some symmetry and more balanced composition. South Georgia is an island in the Southern Atlantic Ocean and one of the most remote places in the world. It is certainly one of my favourite islands on the planet. A land of ruggedly beautiful jaw-dropping landscapes and amazingly varied wildlife: a battering ram of 3000 m peaks, 160 glaciers, and frayed coastline with some of the most populous seal, penguin and seabird colonies on the planet including whales, orcas, diving petrels, wandering albatross and much more.
